Job Description

The Fitter is responsible to provide a safe and efficient mechanical service through effective maintenance and installation of equipment and machinery within the workplace assigned, ensuring equipment availability.

Qualifications

  • N2 Trade related subjects or 10 years as a qualified artisan
  • Recognized trade certificate
  • Learner ship contract / proof of formal training / workbook
  • English proficiency
  • Medical Certificate of Fitness
  • First aid certificate
  • Own transport to attend to callouts in good time
  • Previous experience with current diesel mechanical equipment and mining experience a great advantage

Competencies

  • Supervision of subordinates and communication skills
  • Knowledge of Health and Safety and other policies and procedures
  • Diagnostics and fault finding
  • Planning, organizing and controlling skills
