Job Description

The LHD operator is responsible to load ore and waste according to the provided Procedures, standards and methods to achieve the operational goals of the mine. This includes; Driving the LHD Safely to the work area, scoop ore and waste and load onto trucks, signal trucks when operation is complete, report to Shift Supervisor when finished and move to a new location, return LHD Safely to the designated area.

The LHD operator is furthermore responsible for; safety and risk  inspections on his/her vehicle, the routine maintenance

Qualifications;-

  • Certificate of competency
  • Grade 10/ABET 3
  • National Certificate in Mining Operations Level 2
  • Minimum requirements of the Dover Test
  • Medical Certificate of Fitness
  • First Aid Training certificate

Competencies;-

  • LHD Operator Skills
  • Understanding of Policies and procedures
  • Understanding of Health and Safety
  • Basic Legal Understanding and Hazzard Identification skills
  • Problem Solving Skills
